We are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineer Project Manager with a focus on geothermal energy projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in engineering, project management, and geothermal technologies. The role involves overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of geothermal projects while ensuring they align with organizational goals and industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, milestones, and resource requirements. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives and deliverables.
- Engineering Design Oversight: Lead the engineering design phase, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Work closely with engineering teams to optimize system designs.
- Resource Management: Manage project budgets, including cost estimation and tracking. Allocate resources efficiently to meet project goals.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with projects. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Vendor and Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external partners.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality control measures to ensure the integrity and reliability of systems. Conduct regular inspections and assessments.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing geothermal energy projects. Obtain necessary permits and approvals.
- Timeline Management: Monitor project timelines and milestones, adjusting plans as necessary to meet deadlines. Communicate project progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Team Leadership: Provide leadership and direction to project teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment. Mentor and develop team members.
Qualifications:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Mechanical, Petroleum, Civil or Geothermal Engineering).
- Proven experience in project management, particularly in geothermal energy projects.
- Knowledge of geothermal exploration, drilling, and power plant operations.
- Familiarity with geothermal modeling and simulation.
- Strong understanding of environmental and regulatory considerations in geothermal projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.

We are looking for a full-time, sharp, motivated, and creative Geothermal Subsurface expert, experienced in exploration geology and geophysics for geothermal resource evaluation, with an entrepreneurial spirit to join our team and focus on geothermal exploration and resource definition projects. The role will require knowledge of various geothermal systems (hydrothermal, Enhanced Geothermal System (EGS), Closed-Loop Geothermal System (CLGS), and other Advanced Geothermal Systems (AGS)), exploration, structural geology, fluid flow, geo modeling.
This position currently reports to the COO, with a dotted-line relationship to the SVP of Technology.
As a Geothermal Subsurface expert, you will be responsible for:
- Leading geothermal exploration and resource assessment projects
- Preparing and presenting project updates, technical presentations, and project reports
- Evaluating all geothermal exploration data including geological data, geochemical data, petrophysical data, geophysical surveys, and production data
- Planning and interpreting geophysical surveys, including seismic, magnetotulloric and wireline data acquisition campaigns, and calculating resource capacity
- Building integrated geothermal conceptual models (2D and 3D) with geologic, geochemical, geophysical, and well data in a reservoir modeling platform
- Mapping the geologic framework, including faults and alteration zones
- Overseeing well testing, interpreting the results, and integrating them into reservoir models
- Analyzing and integration borehole data, such as image logs, petrophysical logs and more to perform subsurface evaluation, including fracture system analysis
- Identifying and communicating geologic risk and uncertainty, and generating mitigation plans
Education, experience, and skills required:
- Master’s Degree in Geology or Geophysics; Ph.D. preferred
- 15 years of professional experience in energy industry
- Well logs interpretation
- Experience interpreting geochemical and petrophysical datasets for geothermal exploration
- Ability to build integrated geological models with well data, structural data, geochemical, geophysical, and temperature data
- Proficiency in geological modeling platforms
- Experience in evaluating well tests for geothermal resource potential
- Ability to manage a range of projects simultaneously
- Adaptable for working in a fast-paced dynamic environment
- Able to work remotely, with international partners and clients, and flexible scheduling
- Strong organizational skills, solid scientific and proposal writing, effective communications
- Able to coach and mentor others
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience predicting geothermal resource performance based on simulation results
- Experience in reservoir simulation
- Production modeling and forecasting
- Understand fluid and thermodynamics in the subsurface
